Buffalo Tom is an enduring American alternative rock band formed in 1986 at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. The classic trio features Bill Janovitz (vocals/guitar), Chris Colbourn (bass), and Tom Maginnis (drums). Celebrated for their signature blend of bracing guitar crunch, melodic hooks, and introspective, anthemic songwriting, the group emerged from the same fertile Massachusetts scene that produced the Pixies and Dinosaur Jr.
